DIPLOMA IN ENGINEERING (Direct Entry)

Selection Process: Candidates seeking admission to the Diploma 1st Year (1st Semester) must qualify for either the Central Institute of Technology Kokrajhar Entrance Examination (CITKEE) for Diploma Direct Entry conducted by CIT Kokrajhar or the Polytechnic Admission Test (PAT) conducted by SCTE, Assam. 85% of the intake is allotted for CITKEE and the rest of the seats are allotted for PAT-qualified candidates.

Educational Qualifications: Candidates must have passed HSLC or equivalent with 40% of marks in aggregate and 40% of marks in Science, Mathematics (or Advanced Mathematics), and English taken together (5% relaxation for ST/SC/PWD candidates).

Age limit: The age of the candidates as on 01-08-2024 must not exceed the following age limit for different categories- (i) OPEN/OBC-19 years; (ii) SC/ST/PWD-24 years; (iii) Female candidates-22 years.

Diploma Direct Entry - CITKEE: The CITKEE for Diploma Direct Entry is conducted once every year by CIT Kokrajhar for entry into the 1st year of the Diploma programme. It is of three hours duration and consists of multiple choice questions with a total of 150 marks. The question paper consists of five (5) sections: A, B, C, D & E. Section A consists of twenty-five questions in Physics, Section B of twenty-five questions in Chemistry, Section C of twenty-five questions in Biology, Section- D consists of fifty questions in Mathematics & Section-E consists of twenty-five questions in English. Each question carries one mark.


DIPLOMA IN ENGINEERING (Lateral Entry)

Selection Process: Candidates seeking admission through lateral entry into the 2nd Year (3rd Semester) of the Diploma Programme must qualify for the Central Institute of Technology Kokrajhar Entrance Examination (CITKEE) for Diploma Lateral Entry conducted by CIT Kokrajhar. The maximum number of intake under Diploma Lateral entry is 10% of the intake capacity of Diploma Direct Entry. However, the seat remaining unfilled from the 1st Year may be filled by qualifying candidates.

Educational Qualifications: Candidates must have passed the 10+2 examination with Physics/ Mathematics / Chemistry/ Computer Science/Electronics/Information Technology/ Biology/Informatics Practices/ Biotechnology/ Technical Vocational subject/ Agriculture/ Engineering Graphics/ Business Studies/Entrepreneurship. Or 10th + (2 years ITI) shall be eligible for admission to Second Year Diploma Course(s) in ANY branch of Engineering and Technology.

Age limit: Candidates must not be above 40 years of age as on 01-08-2024 (45 years for SC/ST/PWD and 43 years for OBC and female candidates).

Diploma Lateral Entry - CITKEE: The CITKEE for Diploma Lateral Entry is conducted by CIT Kokrajhar for lateral entry into the 2nd Year (3rd semester) of the Diploma Programme. It is of three hours duration and consists of multiple choice questions with a total of 100 marks. The question paper consists of five (4) sections: A, B, C, & D. Section A consists of twenty-five questions in Physics, Section B of twenty-five questions in basic Mathematics, Section C of twenty-five questions in Computer Awareness, Section- D consists of twenty-five questions in questions in English Communication. Each question carries one mark.


DIPLOMA IN ANIMATION (Direct Entry)

Selection Process: Candidates seeking admission to the Diploma in AMT 1st Year (1st Semester) must qualify for either the Central Institute of Technology Kokrajhar Entrance Examination (CITKEE) for Diploma Direct Entry separately conducted by CIT Kokrajhar for the interested aspirants of the course.

Educational Qualification: Candidates must have passed the 10th Std./ SSC examination with at least 40% marks in the qualifying examination (5% relaxation for ST/SC/PWD candidates).

Age limit: The age of the candidates as on 01-08-2024 must not exceed the following age limit for different categories- (i) OPEN/OBC-19 years; (ii) SC/ST/PWD-24 years; (iii) Female candidates-22 years.

Diploma AMT - CITKEE: The CITKEE for Diploma in AMT is conducted separately for the candidates who are interested in the programme. The question paper monists of two parts. PART-A: Multiple Choice type questions and PART-B: Drawing, Illustration and Visualization skill type questions. PART - A comprises of four (4) sections with a total of hundred (100) questions. Section 1: General Knowledge (30 questions), Section 2: Computer Fundamentals (15 questions), Section 3: English Communication (15 questions), and Section 4: Culture & Creative Ability (40 questions). Each MCQ-type question has one correct answer out of the four given choices. All questions carry equal marks of one (1). PART - B consists of two (2) sections (I & II) with a total of four (4) questions. Section-I comprises two (2) questions each containing a maximum of 15 marks and Section II comprises two (2) questions each containing a maximum of 10 marks.

B.Tech (Direct Entry)

SELECTION PROCESS: Candidates seeking admission to B. Tech through Direct Entry Scheme must qualify for either the Central Institute of Technology Kokrajhar Entrance Examination (CITKEE) for B. Tech Direct Entry Admission conducted by CIT Kokrajhar or JEE (Mains) conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA). 60% of the intake is allotted for CITKEE and the rest of the seats are allotted for JEE (Mains) qualified candidates. However, the candidates who are interested in Admission through JEE (Mains) from All India region (outside North-East) shall have to come through CSAB-JoSSA.

Educational Qualification: Passed 10+2 examination with Physics/ Mathematics / Chemistry/ Computer Science/ Electronics/ Information Technology/ Biology/ Informatics Practices/ Biotechnology/ Technical Vocational subject/ Agriculture/ Engineering Graphics/ Business Studies/ Entrepreneurship as approved by AICTE for Agriculture Engineering). Obtained at least 45% marks (40% marks in case of candidates belonging to reserved category) in the above subjects taken together. OR Passed min. 3 years Diploma examination with at least 45% marks (40% marks in case of candidates belonging to reserved category) subject to vacancies in the First Year, in case the vacancies at lateral entry are exhausted.

Age Limit: Candidates must not be above 21 years, or below 17 years of age as of 1st August of the Academic Year. The upper age limit is relaxed to 3 years for SC/ST/PWD candidates.

B.Tech-Direct Entry-CITKEE: The CITKEE for B. Tech Direct Entry Admission is conducted every year by CIT Kokrajhar for entry into the 1st Year (1st Semester) of the B. Tech programme. It is of three hours duration and consists of multiple choice questions with a total of 125 marks. The question paper consists of four (4) sections: A, B, C & D. Section A consists of twenty-five questions in Physics, Section B consists of twenty-five questions in Chemistry, Section C consists of fifty questions in Mathematics and Section D consists of twenty-five questions in English Communication Skill. Each question carries one mark.

B.Tech-Direct Entry-JEE(Mains): JEE-Mains is conducted by NTA twice every year. Candidates seeking admission only through JEE-Mains also need to separately apply for admission into CIT Kokrajhar. The scorecards of JEE-Mains are to be uploaded by the applicants in the Online Application Portal within 10 days from the declaration of the session –II JEE-Mains result


B.Tech (Vertical Entry)

SELECTION PROCESS: The candidates who have completed or are completing the 6th semester Diploma Programme from CIT Kokrajhar are eligible to apply for admission into the 2nd year (3rd semester) of the B. Tech Programme offered by the institute. The selection is based on the fulfilment of eligibility criteria and the merit list prepared on the CGPA of 6th Semester.

Educational Qualification: Diploma in the concerned branch of Engineering/Technology from CITK with overall 65% marks (5% relaxation for SC/ST/PWD).


B.Tech (Lateral Entry)

SELECTION PROCESS: Candidates seeking admission to B. Tech 2nd Year (3rd Semester) through the Lateral Entry Scheme must qualify for the Central Institute of Technology Kokrajhar Entrance Examination (CITKEE) for B. Tech Lateral Entry Admission conducted by CIT Kokrajhar.

Educational Qualification: Passed Minimum Three years / two years (Lateral Entry) Diploma examination with at least 45% marks (40% marks in case of candidates belonging to reserved category) in ANY branch of Engineering and Technology. OR Passed B.Sc. Degree from a recognized University as defined by UGC, with at least 45% marks (40% marks in case of candidates belonging to reserved category) and passed 10+2 examination with Mathematics as a subject.

Age Limit: Candidates must not be above 40 years of age as of 1st August of the Academic Year ( 45 years for SC/ST/PWD and 43 years for OBC and female candidates).

B. Tech Lateral Entry - CITKEE: The CITKEE for B. Tech Lateral Entry Admission is conducted every year by CIT Kokrajhar for entry into the 2nd Year (3rd Semester) of the B. Tech programme. It is of three hours duration and consists of multiple choice questions with a total of 100 marks. The question paper consists of four (2) sections. Section I consists of sixty questions in a Common Paper containing Physics (10 questions), Chemistry (10 questions), Mathematics (20 questions), Graphics (10 questions), Computer awareness (05 questions) and English Communication (05 questions). Section II consists of forty questions in branch papers. The branch paper consists of five options in Electronics and Communication Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, Food Engineering and Technology and Civil Engineering. Candidates may attempt at least three (3) options in case they are interested in swapping the branch.

B.Des (Direct Entry)

SELECTION PROCESS: Candidates seeking admission to B. Des through the Direct Entry Scheme must qualify for either the Central Institute of Technology Kokrajhar Entrance Examination (CITKEE) for B. Des Direct Entry Admission conducted by CIT Kokrajhar or UCEED conducted by IIT Bombay. 60% of the intake is allotted for CITKEE and the rest of the seats are allotted for UCEED-qualified candidates.

Educational Qualification: 10+2 (any stream) or equivalent with 50% marks in aggregate (5% relaxation for ST/SC/PWD candidates).

Age Limit: Candidates must not be above 21 years, or below 17 years of age as of 1st August of the Academic Year. The upper age limit is relaxed to 3 years for SC/ST/PWD candidates.

B. Des Direct Entry - CITKEE: The (CITKEE) for B. DesDirect Entry Admission is conducted every year by CIT Kokrajhar for entry into 1st Semester of the B. Des programme. It is of three hours duration and consists of multiple choice questions with a total of 200 marks. The question paper consists of two parts: PART - A & PART - B. The question paper carries 107 questions in total.

B. Des Direct Entry - UCEED: UCEED is conducted by IIT Bombay every year. Candidates seeking admission only through UCEED also need to separately apply to CIT either online mode or offline mode. The scorecard of UCEED needs to be submitted to the Admission Cell Online mode within 10 days of the declaration of the UCEED result.


B.Des (Vertical Entry)

SELECTION PROCESS: The candidates who have completed or are completing the 6th semester Diploma Programme in Animation and Multimedia (AMT) from CIT Kokrajhar are eligible to apply for admission into the 2nd year (3rd semester) of the B. Tech Programme offered by the institute. The selection is based on the fulfilment of eligibility criteria and the merit list prepared on the CGPA of 6th Semester.

B.Des Vertical Entry: Diploma in Animation and Multimedia Technology from CITK with 60% overall marks (5% relaxation for SC/ST/PWD).

Tech Programme must qualify either Central Institute of Technology Master of Technology Entrance Examination (CITKEE) - 2024 conducted by CIT Kokrajhar or the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) conducted by IITs and IISc on behalf of National Coordination Board-GATE followed by personal interview to be conducted by respective Departments. SELECTION PROCESS: For getting admission into M. Des programme, the candidates must qualify either Central Institute of Technology Master of Design Admission Test (CITKEE) - 2024 conducted by CIT Kokrajhar or Common Entrance Examination for Design (CEED) conducted by IIT Bombay.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA: Minimum CGPA of 6.0 or 55% of marks in the qualifying degree/diploma. Candidates who have completed three year degree programme (10+2+3 pattern) in any specialization from a recognized college or university with a minimum experience of one (1) year of professional programme / work experience in the relevant areas of art, animation, multimedia, mass media and design or passed four (4) year B.Des./BFA/BVA/Bachelors in Multimedia/Fashion/Accessory design or professional degree in BFA, BVA or equivalent.

SELECTION PROCESS: The selection process is through a Written Test followed by Personal Interview.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA: The details of the eligibility criteria (i.e. minimum qualifications and experience) for admission to various Ph. D programs are given below. Relaxation in academic qualification for reserved categories of students is as per Government of India guidelines.

A. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR Ph. D IN ENGINEERING

For admission to the Ph. D Program in Engineering departments, a candidate must satisfy one of the following criteria:


A.1.1 Master's degree in Engineering/Technology in a relevant area with a minimum CGPA of 6.5 or 60% of marks

A.1.2 Bachelor's degree in Engineering/Technology in a relevant area with a minimum CGPA of 8.5 or 80% of marks

A.1.3 A regular student of CIT Kokrajhar who is continuing his/her M. Tech studies and having a minimum CGPA of 8.0 at the end of second semester may be enrolled in the PhD Program of the Department in the beginning of his/her third semester of study. Such students can receive only Ph. D Degree.

A.1.4 A student of CIT Kokrajhar who is continuing his/her B. Tech studies and having a minimum CGPA of 8.5 at the end of sixth semester may be enrolled in the Ph. D Program of the Department in the beginning of his/her seventh semester of study. Such students can receive dual B. Tech and PhD Degree. Both the degrees will be awarded after completion of PhD degree.

B. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR Ph. D IN DESIGN

For admission to the Ph. D Program in Design, a candidate must satisfy one of the following criteria:

B.1.1 Candidates having M. Des/MFA/ MVA/M. Arch /M. Tech/ME degree in a relevant area, with a minimum CGPA of 6.5 or 60% of marks

B.1.2 Master’s degree in computer Applications/Geography/Rural development/social Sciences with a minimum CGPA of 6.5 or 60% marks

B.1.3 Bachelor’s degree in Design or Engineering/Technology in a relevant area with a minimum CGPA of 8.5 or 80% of marks

B.1.4 A two-year Post-graduate Diploma in Design (NID/CEPT or equivalent) with first class at Bachelor’s level

B.1.5 BFA/BVA (4-year professional programme, after 10+2)/GD Art (5-year programme after 10th standard) with one year professional experience, with a minimum CGPA of 7.5 or 70% of marks

B.1.6 A regular student of CIT Kokrajhar who is continuing his/her M. Des studies and having a minimum CGPA of 8.5 at the end of second semester may be enrolled in the Ph. D program of the Department in the beginning of his/her third semester of study. Such students can receive only Ph. D Degree.

B.1.7 A student of CIT Kokrajhar who is continuing his/her B. Des studies and having a minimum CGPA of 8.5 at the end of sixth semester may be enrolled in the Ph. D programme of the Department in the beginning of his/her seventh semester of study. Such students can receive dual B. Des and Ph. D Degree. Both the degrees will be awarded after completion of Ph. D degree.

C. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR Ph. D IN SCIENCE

For admission to the Ph. D Programme in Science departments, a candidate must satisfy one of the following criteria:

C.1.1 M.Sc / M.Phill degree in Science in a relevant area with a minimum CGPA of 6.5 or 60% of marks

C.1.2 M.Tech degree in Engineering/Technology/Design in a relevant area with a minimum CGPA of 6.5 or 60% of marks

For admission to the PhD Programme in the department of Humanities and Social Sciences (HSS), a candidate must satisfy one of the following criteria:
