SELECTION PROCESS: Candidates seeking admission to Diploma must qualify either Central Institute of Technology Diploma Entrance Examination (CITDEE) conducted by CIT Kokrajhar or Polytechnic Admission Test (PAT) conducted by SCTE, Assam. 85% of intake is allotted for CITEE and rest of the seats are allotted for PAT qualified candidates.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA: Candidates must have passed HSLC or equivalent with 40% marks in aggregate and 40% of marks in Science, Mathematics (or Advanced Mathematics) and English taken together. (5% relaxation for ST/SC/PWD candidates).

AGE LIMIT: The age of the candidates as on 1st August of the current Academic year must not exceed the following age limit for different categories- (i) GEN/OBC-19 years; (ii) SC/ST/PWD-24 years; (iii) Female Candidates-22 years.

CITDEE: CITDEE is conducted once every year by CIT Kokrajhar for entry into Diploma programme. It is of three hours duration and consists of multiple choice questions with a total of 150 marks. The question paper consists of five (5) sections: A, B, C, D & E. Section-A consists of twenty five questions in Physics, Section-B of twenty five questions in Chemistry, Section-C of twenty five questions in Biology, Section- D consists of fifty questions in Mathematics & Section-E consists of twenty five questions in English. Each question carries one mark each.

PAT: PAT is conducted every year by SCTE, Assam. Candidates seeking admission only through PAT also need to separately apply to CIT either by online mode or offline mode. The softcopy/hardcopy of scorecard of PAT needs to be submitted to the Admission Cell within 10 days from the declaration of PAT result.

DIRECT ENTRY

SELECTION PROCESS: Candidates seeking admission to B. Tech through Direct Entry Scheme must qualify either Central Institute of Technology Bachelor of Technology Entrance Examination (CITBTEE)-2021 conducted by CIT Kokrajhar or JEE (Mains) conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA). 60% of intake is allotted for CITBTEE-2021 and rest of the seats are allotted for JEE (Mains) qualified candidates.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA: B. Tech (Direct Entry): 10+2 or equivalent with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as compulsory subjects. (5% relaxation for ST/SC/PWD candidates).

AGE LIMIT: Candidates must not be above 21 years, or below 17 years of age as on 1st August of the current academic year. The upper age limit is relaxed to 3 years for SC/ST/PWD candidates.

CITBTEE: The CITBTEE is conducted every year by CIT Kokrajhar for entry into B. Tech programme. It is of three hours duration and consists of multiple choice questions with a total of 125 marks. The question paper consists of four (4) sections: A, B, C & D. Section A consists of twenty five questions in Physics, Section B consists of twenty five questions in Chemistry, Section C consists of fifty questions in Mathematics and Section D consists of twenty-five questions in English Communication Skill. Each question carries one mark.

JEE (Mains): JEE-Mains is conducted by NTA twice every year. Candidates seeking admission only through JEE-Mains also need to separately apply to CIT either by online mode or offline mode. The softcopy/hardcopy of scorecard of JEE-Mains need to be submitted to the Admission Cell within 10 days from the declaration of JEE-Mains result.




LATERAL/VERTICAL ENTRY

For admission into B. Tech 3rd semester, there are two entry schemes-
(1) Vertical Entry: Central Institute of Technology Kokrajhar offers admission to B. Tech 3rd semester for students who have passed Diploma program from CIT Kokrajhar in relevant branches under this scheme.
(2) Lateral Entry: Students who have passed Diploma program from CITK or other institutes/colleges may seek admission to B. Tech 3 rd semester in relevant branches under Lateral Entry Scheme.

SELECTION PROCESS:

For Vertical Entry: The Vertical Entry Scheme is offered only for meritorious students who passed Diploma from CIT Kokrajhar and they are selected based on their performance in the Diploma Exams.

For Lateral Entry: For Lateral Entry Scheme, the candidates must qualify the Central Institute of Technology BTECH Lateral Entry Test (CITBLET)-2021 – conducted by CIT Kokrajhar.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:

Vertical Entry: Passed Diploma from CITK in the concerned branch of Engineering/Technology with minimum aggregate of 65% marks. (5% relaxation for SC/ST/PWD).
Lateral Entry: Passed Diploma from CITK in the concerned branch of Engineering/Technology with minimum aggregate of 65% marks. (5% relaxation for SC/ST/PWD).

AGE LIMIT: 40 years for Gen candidates (45 years for SC/ST/PWD and 43 years for OBC and female candidates) as on 1 st August of the current academic year.

CITBLET: The CITBLET is conducted every year by CIT Kokrajhar for entry into B. Tech 3rd semester programme under Lateral Entry scheme. It is of Three hours duration and consists of multiple choice questions with a total of 100 marks. The question paper consists of two sections: Section-A (60marks) Common Paper for all Branch and Section-B (40marks) - Branch Paper. Each question carries one mark.

SELECTION PROCESS: Candidates seeking admission to B. Des programme through Direct Entry Scheme must qualify either Central Institute of Technology Bachelor of Design Admission Test (CITBDAT)-2021 conducted by CIT Kokrajhar or Undergraduate Common Entrance Examination of Design (UCEED) conducted by IIT Bombay. 60% of intake is allotted for CITBDAT and rest of the seats are allotted for UCEED qualified candidates. Candidates who are eligible for Vertical Entry admission to B. Des will be as per the academic ordinance of the Institute.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA: B. Des (Direct Entry):10+2 (any stream) or equivalent with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate. (5% relaxation for SC/ST/PWD candidates).

AGE LIMIT: Candidates must not be above 21 years, or below 17 years of age as on 1st August of the current academic year. The upper age limit is relaxed to 3 years for SC/ST/PWD candidates.

CITBDAT: The CITBDAT is conducted every year by CIT Kokrajhar for entry into B. Des programme. It is of three hours duration and consists of multiple choice questions with a total of 200 marks. The question paper consists of two parts: PART - A & PART - B. The question paper carries 107 questions in total.

SYLLABUS: MCD-BDES Syllabus

UCEED: UCEED is conducted by IIT Bombay every year. Candidates seeking admission only through UCEED also need to separately apply to CIT either by online mode or offline mode. The softcopy/hardcopy of scorecard of UCEED need to be submitted to the Admission Cell within 10 days from the declaration of UCEED result.

SELECTION PROCESS: Candidates seeking admission to M. Tech Programme must qualify either Central Institute of Technology Master of Technology Entrance Examination (CITMTEE) - 2021 conducted by CIT Kokrajhar or the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) conducted by IITs and IISc on behalf of National Coordination Board-GATE followed by personal interview to be conducted by respective Departments. GATE qualified candidates will be given preference.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA: Passed B. Tech or Equivalent with a minimum CGPA of 6.5/10 or 60% of marks in aggregate in relevant disciplines. (5% relaxation for SC/ST/PWD candidates).

CITMTEE: The CITMTEE is conducted by CIT Kokrajhar for admission into M. Tech Programme. It is of two hours duration and consists of multiple choice type questions carrying one mark each with a total of 100 marks.

Master of Design (M. Des)

SELECTION PROCESS: For getting admission into M. Des programme, the candidates must qualify either Central Institute of Technology Master of Design Admission Test (CITMDAT) – 2021 conducted by CIT Kokrajhar or Common Entrance Examination for Design (CEED) conducted by IIT Bombay.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA: Candidates who have completed three year degree programme (10+2+3 pattern) in any specialization from a recognized college or university with a minimum experience of one (1) year of professional programme / work experience in the relevant areas of art, animation, multimedia, mass media and design OR passed Four (4) year B.Des/BFA/BVA/Bachelors in Multimedia/Fashion/Accessory design or equivalent or appearing final year examination in similar course OR Five (5) year professional degree in BFA, BVA or equivalent.

CITMDAT: The CITMDAT is conducted by CIT Kokrajhar for admission into M. Des programme. The question paper consists of two parts- Part-A: 50 multiple choice questions carrying one mark each and Part-B: two sections each of 25 marks which are Perceptive/Illustrative type.

SYLLABUS:Multimedia Communication and Design


PHD PROGRAMME

SELECTION PROCESS: The selection process is through a Written Test followed by Personal Interview.

Eligibility Criteria for MCD

For admission to the PhD Programme in Multimedia Communication and Design, a candidate must satisfy one of the following criteria:

  1. Master’s in Design / Multimedia / Animation / Engineering / Mass Media Communication / Planning & Architecture / fashion design in a relevant area, with at least CPI 6.0 out of 10 or at least 60% marks.
  1. Two-year Master’s in Management / Computer Application (MBA / MCA or equivalent) degree, with one year of professional experience, with at least CPI 6.0 out of 10 or at least 60% marks, with relevant studies in Design field, and Bachelor’s degree in any discipline.
  1. BFA (4-year professional programme, after 10+2)/ GD Art (5-year programme after 10th standard) with three-year professional experience, with at least CPI 7.0 out of 10 or at least 70% marks.
  1. Four-year Undergraduate Diploma in Design (NID or equivalent), with postgraduate qualification in relevant area with at least CPI 7.0 out of 10 or at least 70% marks.
  1. A two-year Post-Graduate Diploma in Design and relevant areas (NID/CEPT or equivalent) with three year of professional experience, with at least CPI 6.0 out of 10 or at least 60% marks.

Note: Relaxation for SC/ST/PwD Candidates: Eligibility criteria will be relaxed by 5% marks or 0.5 CPI for SC/ST/PwD applicants.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR BRANCHES OTHER THAN DESIGN: Master degree in relevant discipline with a minimum CGPA of 6.5/10 or 60% for Engineering or Grade B or 55% of marks in UGC 7 point scale for others.

 B. Tech degree in relevant discipline with a minimum CGPA of 8.5/10 or 80% marks in aggregate.
 
 Written Test/Personal Interview will be conducted as per the notification in due time.
